Book Baby

I have always been a fan of this author's young adult books so I decided to try one of her adult books. It wasn't as good as I hoped. It was an alright read. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. It was somewhat interesting with the different characters. There weren't too many intimate scenes which was nice. I don't think I'll read on in this series though.

I heard so many good things about this book. While reading it, for a while I thought the good reviews were wrong. I thought it seemed like the typical teenage plot that has caused me to steer away from YA more often. I thought it was the typical high school story where the most popular and attractive boy in school falls for the random plain girl and that's basically all there is to it. The end part was what saved the story for me. I still would not call this book one of my favorites but it was pretty good. I plan to read the sequel.

This is the second book in the Odd Thomas series. It was a decent book but not as good as the first one. I've kind of lost interest in the series now but I got the whole series as a gift so I will read on anyway.

I am a fan of the show Supernatural, but not a huge fan. I picked up this book as research for my writing. I was interested to see some of the mythology involved in the show and about the mythology in general. I thought it was actually a really interesting read and useful to anyone who is interested in the subject of the paranormal.

I got an old library copy of this book. It is not the prettiest condition for a book but it has clearly been well loved and I love that about it. #Bibliophile

I knew when I picked up the book that this would be about a man who killed killers and who worked somehow with the police. These things were true. I didn't know that Dexter was literally a psychopath but maybe I should have guessed that. It was kind of a deal breaker for me. He is someone who is incapable of love and real emotion and incredibly creepy and I couldn't find anything that I liked about him at all. I originally planned to watch the television series after I read the book but now I decided that I didn't want to. The book was okay if you don't mind the psycho main character I guess.

I previously loved all the books in the vampire academy series and the spinoff bloodlines series that this book is a part of. But this book just wasn't as good. I think I would have been glad if the series ended with the previous book in the series but it didn't. I found this one rather boring honestly. I still have never taken a liking to the main female character Sydney.

Overall, a good book. I did enjoy it, some stories more than others. I especially enjoyed all of the doodles and notes from the authors themselves. It was very insightful.

I must preface this by saying that I'm a huge fan of this author. Her writing is absolutely incredible. Her characters are just so unique and so real and so well written, her descriptions are unlike anything, and I am yet to read a book by her that I do not like. I read her werewolf series and was unsure if I wanted to read anything else by her. I was nervous I wouldn't like it as much as the werewolf series. This series is different for sure but still very good. I found the characters so fascinating and can't wait to read the next book in this series. I do not think that this book equals my love for her werewolf series but it's still excellent. I would honestly say that her books are some of the best YA books out there. You should really give them a chance, especially if you love supernatural themes. Even if you feel like you've outgrown most YA as I often feel, you will still love her books because they aren't your typical Young Adult books.

I have tried many Dean Koontz books but had yet to find one that I liked until Odd Thomas. I saw the movie on Netflix and loved it so I decided to give the book a chance. I'm glad I did. The writing is done really well. The characters are incredible. I love the voice of the main character. I love the idea behind these books. It's all brilliant. You will not regret reading these books. Except maybe for the bummer ending. I plan to read the next books in the series as well.

I thought this book looked interesting after looking at the cover and reading the back. I would never recommend this book to anyone. It was terrible. Right away I noticed that the writing was just horrible. Then it got worse. A random guy comes along and flips the main female character off. She instantly thinks that he likes her and takes a liking to him. She pretty much stalks him and he acts like a jerk yet after like two days she is madly in love with him. There is so much wrong with this book but I don't want to spoil it too much if you do want to give this book a try. I would not recommend it though.

I wouldn't say this book was one of my favorites but it wasn't that bad. It was an okay read. I would recommend it if you are looking for something sweet, romantic, set in winter, and quick to read.

The idea of this book seemed interesting and it would have been a good book if it weren't for a few things. The book repeatedly talked about the main character's genitals. Nothing about the main character was appealing to me. I didn't understand the main character's relationship. I thought there was too much focus on sexual things instead of survival.

I preface these reviews with Stephen King is my favorite author. I collect all of his books and read them all. I love almost all of his books. This was not one of them. I had high hopes after reading so many good reviews on it. It was supposed to be a classic Stephen King horror story. It was supposed to be scary and disturbing. I thought his recent book Mr Mercedes was actually much better and that was more of a crime novel. This book was very disappointing and very boring. Not much really happened the whole book. And the book should have been written in the pastor's point of view.
